This Privacy Policy explains how Binder ("Binder", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Binder mobile app and related services (the "Service"). Binder is operated by Melih Arda Sarıtaş, based in Türkiye.

1. Who this applies to

Binder is a trading-card collection tracker, AI grading assistant, and peer-to-peer marketplace for collectors. This policy applies to everyone who uses the app.

Binder is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

2. Information we collect

a) Account information. When you create an account we store your email address, a display name, and (optionally) a profile photo. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the basic profile information those providers share (name and email). You may also use a temporary guest session that lets you try card scanning before signing up; guest sessions are not linked to an email until you create a full account.

b) Content you create. This includes the cards in your collection (card identity, quantity, condition, grade, and any purchase price you enter), your settings (preferred currency, city, games you follow, your "grail" card), marketplace listings, in-app messages, AI grade reports, price alerts, and league activity (your public handle, country, and points).

c) Photos. When you scan or grade a card, or set a profile picture, the image is uploaded to our storage provider. Card images you submit for grading or identification are sent to our AI provider for processing (see Section 4).

d) Location (optional). If you grant location permission, we use your approximate location to show nearby stores and to pre-fill a city for your marketplace listings. You can deny or revoke this at any time in your device settings; the app still works without it.

e) Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status (the tier you hold) through our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We never receive or store your full payment-card details.

f) Technical data. Basic, standard information needed to operate the app (e.g. authentication tokens and error logs). We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

4. AI grading and card identification

When you use AI grading or card identification, the card image (resized) and any notes you provide are sent through our secure server to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), which analyzes the image and returns an estimated grade or card match. This processing is necessary to deliver the feature you requested.

AI grades are estimates generated by software and are not a guarantee of any result from PSA or any other grading company. Binder is not affiliated with PSA.

We share information only with providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed:

We also query public trading-card databases (e.g. for card details and market prices). These lookups do not include your personal information.

6. Marketplace and public information

If you post a marketplace listing or join the leagues, some information is visible to other users by design: your public handle, your country, your listings, and league points. The contact method and contact details you add to a listing are shown to signed-in users so buyers can reach you — only add contact details you are comfortable sharing. Do not post sensitive personal information in listings or messages.

7. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Security → Delete account. Deletion permanently removes your collection, listings, messages, photos, league data, and account from our systems. Some records may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten, and we may retain limited information where required by law.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. Our AI provider is accessed only through our server, so our AI credentials are never embedded in the app. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by emailing info@binderapps.com. We do not sell personal data.

10. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
